So you want to be a social butterfly?  Do you love adding pictures to Instagram, being witty on Twitter or adding stories on Facebook?  If so, then social media marketing may just be for you.

Social media marketing has many different elements and roles -

  • Social Media Manager

In essence, social media marketing is leveraging social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok to promote your business, its products and services, all whilst connecting and building authentic relationships with your audience.

Sounds easy?

Well it's not for the faint hearted, but can be one of the most fun and engaging digital roles out there - and if you're great at it, you and your skills will be in demand.


What are the responsibilities of a Social Media Manager?

  • Managing & curating a company’s equity online
  • Managing a brand or company's social presence
  • Monitoring brand conversations happening online
  • Be customer-centric
  • Dealing with customer service through social media channels (& dealing with issues quickly) 
  • Creating holistic content for all social channels
  • Keeping up-to-date on social media trends and news (& advising business as needed)

What skills does a Social Media Manager require?

  • Top-notch communication skills
  • Ninja-ability copy writing
  • Creativity, innovation and humour
  • Knowledge of and expertise across all social channels
  • Plus... experience in PR can come in very useful 

What can a Social Media Manager earn?

  • Circa £25,000 - £50,000+ (dependent on experience, level, company & brand)
