Business Analyst - Digital Transformation

Our client has a group turnover over just under £1Bn in the UK homewares market.  The business is at the forefront of new technologies for serving the customer both on and off-line and is in the middle of a large digital transformation programme. As Business Analyst in the Digital Transformation team you will liaise between operations and development teams to gather requirements for solutions being developed for new platform and technology functionality.

key responsibilities:

  • Work with businesses across the Group to identify business and functional requirements
  • Manage, develop and implement business solutions; spot opportunities for synergies, shared functionality & requirements
  • Support multiple projects under the direction of the Digital Transformation programme lead
  • Establish relationships with internal customers by being proactive and demonstrating knowledge of their business processes
  • Meet regularly with managers across Group to define project direction, system change priorities and business objectives
  • Lead requirement gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, group sessions, user observations and/or use other techniques to identify business need or requirements with stakeholders at all levels. Interpret and replay the requirements to all stakeholders at both strategic and operational model
  • Analyse, document, and validate 'as is' processes and map ‘to-be’ process models with impact of change demonstrated in these models
  • Understand and document current business processes and lead analysis into the definition of the future state, including system and people change
  • Actively pursue issue resolution and communicate project status/issues to business stakeholders and operational management
  • Involvement and support during RFI/RFP process and vendor selection


  • Deep knowledge of building process maps, data flows and diagrams
  • Have a pragmatic approach to ensure the requirements match the desired outcomes and are not over or under specified
  • Experience of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Proficient knowledge of requirement gathering processes and proven analysis techniques
  • Documentation of benefits and realisation throughout the product lifecycle
  • Provision of end-to-end support during the development and test life cycle
  • Track record of managing and contributing to multiple digital programmes running simultaneously
